Inspection items of marine windlass before use:

Whether the brake belt, chain making equipment, guide chain equipment, clutch, etc. are correct, and the positive and negative idling test of the motor shall be conducted and confirmed to be normal.

Anchoring operation:

The anchoring method shall be selected according to the anchorage and surrounding conditions, wind, current, pressure and the condition of the ship. According to the actual situation, the ship can be anchored by stopping the ship to the ground and dumping the anchor and anchor chain with the power of the windlass until the required length of anchor chain is completely loose on the seabed.

After throwing the anchor, start the chain making equipment, brake the brake belt, release the clutch, and cut off the power supply of the windlass. In order to avoid chain break, anchor loss and damage to windlass, it is not suitable for ships to drop anchor in unshielded area.

Anchor operation: inform the supply of power and chain water in advance, close the clutch, open the brake belt and chain equipment, and carry out the anchor operation according to the instructions. Pay attention to the observation during the winding up process to avoid overload operation. After the anchor is retracted, the brake is braked, the chain control equipment is started, the clutch is disengaged, the power is turned off, and the finishing work is done well.
